VMware Cloud Foundation automates the following tasks during the deployment and
configuration of NSX Edge clusters:
• Deploys the NSX Edge VMs
• Creates and configures NSX Edge uplink profiles
• Creates and configures uplink segments
• When border gateway protocol (BGP) is used: Enables, configures, and verifies Tier-0 BGP
• Creates and configures the initial Tier-0 and Tier-1 gateways
• Expands or shrinks an existing NSX Edge cluster
Taken from VMware Cloud Foundation: Deploy,Configure, Manager Lecture Manual
After you create an NSX Edge cluster, you can use SDDC Manager to expand or shrink it by adding or deleting NSX Edge nodes.
https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/vmware-cis/vcf/vcf-5-2-and-earlier/5-2/map-for-administering-vcf-5-2/deploying-nsx-edge-clusters-admin/create-an-nsx-edge-cluster-admin.html
Two common SDDC Manager operations you can perform on an NSX Edge cluster after deployment are:
expanding the cluster by adding more Edge nodes
shrinking the cluster by removing Edge nodes
