Question #: 12
Topic #: 1
[All 5V0-42.21 Questions]

A customer is migrating a branch site with a VMware SD-WAN Edge replacing the CE. The Edge will have both MPLS and internet links.
MPLS underlay is the preferred path for communication from this site to branch sites that have no VMware SD-WAN Edges. Communication from this site to branch sites that have VMware SD-WAN Edges should go through overlay.
Which design should be used to prevent this branch site from becoming a transit site?

  • A. Use BGP as the routing protocol on the Edge, flag its BGP neighbor to PE as Uplink, and advertise overlay prefixes over Uplink.
  • B. Use BGP as the routing protocol on the Edge, and flag its BGP neighbor to PE as Uplink.
  • C. Use OSPF as the routing protocol on the Edge, and put the LAN connected to the Edge in a stub area.
  • D. Use OSPF as the routing protocol on the Edge, and put the LAN connected to the Edge in a totally stub area.

Choose between two options from the drop-dwon menu: None and Uplink. Select Uplink if it is used as the WAN overlay towards MPLS. It will be used as the flag to decide whether the site will become a transit site (e.g. hub) by propagating routes leant over SD-WAN overlay to WAN link toward MPLS. If need to make it a transit site, also check "Overlay Prefix Over Uplink" in Advanced option.
