A& E are correct - see below from VMware docs from the topic - Stretched Cluster Design Considerations https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/8.0/vsan-planning/GUID-1BDC7194-67A7-4E7C-BF3A-3A0A32AEECA9.html#GUID-1BDC7194-67A7-4E7C-BF3A-3A0A32AEECA9

A, D VMware recommends enabling vSphere DRS to allow for the creation of Host-VM affinity rules. VMware also recommends creating VM/Host groups & affinity rules, as well as using vSphere DRS to perform initial placement of VMs and to avoid unnecessary vMotion of VMs between sites. Because a vSAN Stretched Cluster is still a single cluster, DRS is unaware of the fact that it is made up of different sites and it may decide to move virtual machines between them. The use of VM/Host Groups will allow administrators to “pin” virtual machines to sites, preventing unnecessary vMotions/migrations. https://core.vmware.com/resource/vsan-stretched-cluster-guide#vm-groups

The question here talks about the placement of the VMs, not their data. Then it is simple DRS question, that excludes answer E. Answer B is wrong, of course, as you need to distribute the VM on the sites, so they must be in different groupes --> Answer A is correct. Once the groups are created, you have to place the VMs in the right group (Answer D).

A. Create VM/Host groups for the two sites D. Put the VMs in the correct VM group Option A refers to creating VM/Host DRS groups which are utilized to create DRS rules. These rules can control the placement of virtual machines in specific hosts or host groups, thus ensuring VMs are located in the desired site. Option D suggests placing VMs in the correct VM group which corresponds to the VM/Host group tied to the appropriate site.

Create two host groups, one for the preferred site and one for the secondary site. Create two VM groups, one to hold the VMs on the preferred site and one to hold the VMs on the secondary site. Create two VM-Host affinity rules that map VMs-to-host groups, and specify which VMs and hosts reside in the preferred site and which VMs and hosts reside in the secondary site. So should be A and D https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/7.0/com.vmware.vsphere.vsan-planning.doc/GUID-4172337E-E25F-4C6B-945E-01623D314FDA.html

Selected Answer: AE
A. Create VM/Host groups for the two sites: VM/Host groups are used to define where VMs can be placed within a stretched cluster. By creating separate VM/Host groups for the two sites, you can control which VMs run at which site. E. Create a storage policy that includes site affinity rules and apply it to VMs: You can create a storage policy that includes site affinity rules to specify in which site VMs should be placed or which site's storage should be used. Applying this policy to VMs ensures they are located in the appropriate site.

You can set up two types of DRS groups: virtual machine DRS groups, which contain at least one virtual machine, and host DRS groups, which contain at least one host. A VM-Host rule establishes an relationship between a virtual machine DRS group and a host DRS group. https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/6.7/com.vmware.vsphere.mscs.doc/GUID-1F39CF51-CDA5-40B7-B5AA-8CBA37C65314.html

The "A" question is true, because you need one (1) host group for each site to then use the affinity rules. The "E" question is wrong because you cannot include affinity rules in a storage policy. Instead, it would be "C", because you need to put the VMs in the correct group and link them to the hosts groups already created from answer "A".
