Straight from the Veeam Help Center: 1.) Configuring Network Traffic Rules Network traffic rules control traffic transferred between backup infrastructure components. 2.) Specifying Preferred Networks You can choose networks over which Veeam Backup & Replication must transport data when you perform data protection and disaster recovery tasks. Answer is D. Components are using management network for communication, the question is how would you define data network for backup transfer. Through preferred network rule.

C since you go to network traffic rules and global network traffic rules before you specify preferred network.

The C answer is “Set appropriate source and target IP range”. But specify preferred network no Source and target IP range in the UI. You can double check. So, the best answer only D.
