Retracting what i wrote just now. the first sentence of the chapter reads "This chapter describes a technique to identify alternative Target Architectures and perform trade-offs between the alternatives." So answer should be D "to identify alternative Target Architectures" ( "and perform trade-offs between the alternatives") https://pubs.opengroup.org/togaf-standard/adm-techniques/chap10.html

Answer could be A as the question is asking "what does the method help identify?" The method is "architecture trade-off method" which lists the alternative architectures (meaning the alternative architectures have already been identified) for the stakeholders to choose. whatever is chosen from the alternatives, will be the identified Solution.
