Splunk's search interface does indeed automatically highlight the beginning parenthesis when you type a closing parenthesis, making it easier to match parentheses and write clear, accurate search queries.

Using Splunk 9.0.5 I can confirm that when I open a parenthesis and then close it, it highlights the beginning parenthesis.
