Agree this should be updated to External Failure External failure–External failure costs arise from the rejection of the product or services by the customers after delivery. In other words, these are the costs when a product or service fails to meet the required quality standards and is detected after it reaches the customer. If the customer identifies the issue it is an external failure cost
