the answer is c , its simple try running quick discovery on your PDI for a host that already exists and you would see a result of updated when you refresh the device tab , so its not only changes it captures ,the CI will be rediscovered and updated including the last discovered date

I believe it is B, as during the Service Mapping discovery process the discovery of a host is also triggered, however if the host has been discovered previously only the updated attributes of the host will be updated in CMDB. The sys_id of the host will remain the same.
