Why is "Activity Trigger Condition" correct?
Activity Trigger Condition is a specific configuration within a workflow that defines the conditions under which individual activities, such as tasks and approvals, should be triggered. For example, a task might be triggered when a lifecycle event reaches a certain state or when specific conditions related to the employee or the case are met.
The trigger condition evaluates whether the required criteria are met to activate an activity in the workflow, such as when an HR case reaches a specific state, a date arrives, or certain fields are set. This mechanism ensures that tasks and approvals happen automatically at the correct time in the lifecycle process.

When the Activity set is triggered, all Activities within it are triggered as well.
HR Implementation ebook page 82: The Activity Set Trigger Conditions field tells the system when an Activity Set should begin and Business Rules control the behavior.
