Your customer has an external system, which is used to perform changes. Your customer wants to capture these changes in your instance for reporting and CMDB maintenance purposes.
What baseline Change Model supports this scenario?
The Change Registration model in ServiceNow is used to capture change requests that originate from an external system. This model is particularly useful for documenting changes made outside of ServiceNow, such as changes managed by a third-party provider or another system like Jira or GitHub.
Unlike other change models, Change Registration does not involve any approvals or workflows within ServiceNow. It's primarily used to log and track changes for reporting and CMDB maintenance purposes.
