B. Sandbox Why? The Explore phase is a key stage in the SAP Activate methodology used for SAP S/4HANA implementations. It focuses on understanding the business requirements, validating standard SAP processes, and designing the solution. In both on-premise and private cloud new implementations, the Sandbox system is recommended during the Explore phase to demonstrate standard functionality. The Sandbox environment allows for safe experimentation, testing, and demonstration of standard SAP S/4HANA functionalities without impacting the actual development or production systems. It is an ideal environment to show end-users and stakeholders how the system works in practice. Starter system is typically used in cloud public editions (not on-premise or private cloud). Trial systems are usually used for initial evaluations but not in formal project phases. Development systems are for customizing and developing solutions after the Explore phase. The Sandbox environment provides flexibility for testing and exploring system capabilities.
