If converting a lead to a person account, no contact is created. https://www.3creekstech.com/blog/z6sdt8isgn57enfpdacb51jts7kkab-ftkw6-tx43m There is no Lead Conversion object. The lead will still exist as a converted lead and will be read-only, unless you have the required permissions to edit. But it is still a lead object.
