Universal Containers (UC) uses the Advanced Approvals package for Its Approvals process on Quotes. UC's business model requires that Approval requests are assigned to the user's direct manager.
How can the admin ensure that these Approval Rules assign generated Approvals to the user's manager?

  • A. Define the approver Field on the Approval Rule as a custom Quote field which contains the user's manager's User 1D.
  • B. Populate the Approver lookup on the Approval Rule with the Approver corresponding to the user's manager.

Choose C. Pros: Simplicity: This option is straightforward and leverages Salesforce's built-in functionality. Dynamic Updates: Automatically routes requests to the correct manager without needing manual updates if management changes. Less Maintenance: Minimal administrative overhead since it doesn’t require custom fields or additional logic. Cons: May not support complex routing scenarios or specific exceptions without additional configurations. Option A requires more config. The setup is fully explained here; https://salesforce.stackexchange.com/questions/28156/approval-process-next-automated-approver-determined-by#:~:text=Selecting%20Next%20Automated%20Approver%20Determined,field)%20of%20the%20current%20user.

Further confirmation it's A - https://milomassimo.com/Salesforce-CPQ-Advanced-Approvers.html To quote - "We can also assign approvers dynamically based on certain criteria by populating the "Approver Field" on the Approval Rule record with the API name of a field on the object you submit for approval. This field needs to be populated with the ID of the approver's user record. "
