Universal Containers has multiple sales teams that need to select from a subset of the product catalog on the Product Selection page. Which solution meets the business requirement without creating a separate Price Book?
A.
Create a Hidden Filter in Product Selection based on Profile.
B.
Create multiple bundles with validation Product Rules.
C.
Create a Filter Product Rule.
D.
Create a bundle with a Configuration Attribute.
I believe the correct answer is A because Filter Product Rules are specifically utilized on the configuration page rather than the product selection page. When a feature includes an "Add" button, you can employ a filter product rule to narrow down the product options available for selection by the sales representative. However, if you wish to restrict the products that the sales rep can choose from on the product selection page, you would need to create a search filter.
I'm fairly sure C is correct. This is perfect use case for Dynamic Bundles and Filter rules. See https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.cpq_filter_rules_concept.htm&type=5
Actually, I think A is the answer. Only search filters effect the Add Product page. This trailhead explains exactly how you use User profile to limit the product they see: https://trailhead.salesforce.com/content/learn/projects/create-search-filters-to-quickly-find-salesforce-cpq-products/filter-dynamically-based-on-users-sales-region
C. Create a Filter Product Rule.
A Filter Product Rule is a Salesforce Commerce Cloud feature that allows you to specify conditions that a product must meet in order to be included in the product catalog. You can use a Filter Product Rule to create a subset of the product catalog that only includes certain products, based on criteria such as product attributes, price, availability, or any other product data. This would allow you to create a product selection page that shows only the products that are relevant to the sales team, without creating a separate Price Book.
