Cannot be A since counting assets would give you the wrong result. Assts can have negative qty. Lets say a customer had purchase an item of qty 1 and then returned it which would have qty -1. If you count, it would show that the customer still has 2 assets since there would be 2 asset records, but in fact sum would return 0 which would be the correct number of items the customer has. That leaves C to be the correct answer.

Mike in this case counting works since all we need to know is if the customer has bought this before, thus counting, which counts records and not quantity, will do the trick. See here https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.cpq_summary_variable_fields_new.htm&type=5
