Exam Certified CPQ Specialist topic 1 question 21 discussion

Actual exam question from Salesforce's Certified CPQ Specialist
Question #: 21
Topic #: 1
[All Certified CPQ Specialist Questions]

The Admin at Universal Containers recently created a new custom field referenced on the Target Field on a Price Action in a Price Rule. While testing the Price Rule, the Admin noticed that the Price Action failed to populate the custom field. The Admin checked the CPQ Package Setting and noticed that the Triggers Disabled checkbox was checked. After unchecking Triggers Disabled, the custom field still failed to populate.
How can the Admin ensure this custom field can be referenced by the Calculator?

  • A. Revoke the Advanced Calculator and re-authorize the Calculation Service.
  • B. Re-execute the Post Install Script in Package Settings to ensure the Calculator Referenced Fields are up-to-date.
  • C. Rename the custom field label, then recreate the Price Action to reference the new field label.
  • D. The Admin must reference a standard CPQ field because custom fields are unsupported with Price Rules.

I believe A is the right answer. B can't be because "NOTE: that Post Install Scripts do not touch non-CPQ fields." and this question says a custom field. https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=000382092&type=1 However, if you reauthorize the calculation service, it will reset the calculations.https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=000380243&type=1

lol, who though C is correct? how would creating a new rule fix the problem. Just need to reRun the post install scripts so Calc get a new list of meta-data (ie name of the new custom field)

https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=000393328&type=1 "If the price rules were recently migrated, it is worth re-executing the Post Install Scripts to refresh the Calculator Referenced Fields within the Org, especially if data was migrated with Triggers Disabled."

Agree with B, C doesnt make sense since we dont reference fields by it's label but using API names (adding to picklist Target Field)
