Answer: C (Tried and Tested). Since the Contract already has a Renewal Oppty, that mean the Renewal Forecast is True. And if we want the count to be updated, then the Renewal Quoted should not be true, as it creates the Quote with the subscription products at that point of time. So having Forecast as True and Quotes as False gives the flexibility to reps to keep adding amendments till they finally want to work on the Renewal.

I think it's B because the question is talking about the Renewal opportunity products to be updated and not the existing opportunity products

To match the updated quantity they will have to create a new renewal Quote for which the checkbox's on Contract needs to be unchecked. Answer B.

Selected Answer: A
The key word in the question is that you want to increase your subscriptions so you want to renew the existing assets plus some new ones from a quote. hence you want 'Renewal Quoted ' to be true and not 'Renewal Contract' which wouldn't increase anything. It would just keep the existing ones.

I would go with C. You don't always need to generate a quote (and for Renewals, you won't automatically). Additionally, although the Renewal App has been generated, this needs to remain ticked to ensure it isn't generated again. Thirdly, I think the problem in the question has occurred because the products have not been marked as Renewable. So fixing that, and keeping the contracts ticked as forecasted (but not generating a quote), should fix the issue.

"Renew forecast" on the contract generates opportunity with opportunity products (subscriptions) and the quantity is automatically populated on the Opportunity. "Renewal Quoted" generates a quote that contains all the subscription products and subscribed assets from the quote you renewed. https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.cpq_renew_one_contract.htm&type=5

On trailhead there is : "If we make an update to the contract through an amendment, Salesforce CPQ is smart enough to update this renewal opportunity to reflect those changes." https://trailhead.salesforce.com/fr/content/learn/projects/simplify-home-security-subscription-renewals/generate-renewal-opportunity-forecasting So I wonder if we just have to keep true for renewal forecast to true.

you are correct. "Renew forecast" on the contract generates opportunity with opportunity products (subscriptions) and the quantity is automatically populated on the Opportunity. https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.cpq_renew_one_contract.htm&type=5

Selected Answer: A
The renewal opportunity already exists, so no need to check 'Renewal Forecast'. Checking 'Renewal Quoted' will generate the updated renewal quote on the EXISTING renewal opportunity.
