A consultant is asked to configure a user to view a dashboard, within a designated app, without the ability to create and save lenses. After adding the user to the app, which action should the consultant take to implement this requirement?
A.
Assign the Editor role to the user.
B.
Assign the Manager role to the user.
C.
Assign the Viewer role to the user.
D.
Ensure the user has the Use Analytics permission.
Option B (Assign the Manager role) might seem plausible, but it is essential to ensure that the Manager role does not include the "Create and Edit Analytics" permission to prevent lens creation. However, option C (Assign the Viewer role) is a more precise and straightforward solution as it inherently limits lens creation without requiring additional permission adjustments.
C definitely looks correct, but I have to say the wording is terrible.
The question states: "After adding the user to the app", however you are required to select a role (Manager, Viewer, Editor) during the process of adding a user, not after. However it can be changed after.
Users can also be added even if they have NO analytics permission set assigned. They would not be able to access the app but can still receive the app assignment. Crazy...
C makes the most sense, but all of it is pretty senseless.
The Viewer role in most analytics platforms provides read-only access to content, which means the user can view and interact with dashboards but cannot create or edit them. This role usually restricts users from performing any actions that could modify the content, such as creating or saving lenses.
Assigning the Editor or Manager role to the user would give them more permissions than required and allow them to create and save lenses, which is not the intended requirement.
The Use Analytics permission is a basic permission that grants access to the analytics features in the platform, but it does not control the level of access or permissions granted to users.
You can create lenses in the Use Analytics permission (D). Question specifies no create or save lenses, so the answer is C

I think C is the correct answer, as a Viewer role does not allow a user to save changes to existing dashboard, lenses, and dataset in the app (saving dashboard requires the appropriate permission set license and permission). A viewer can only explore datasets that the user has Viewer access to and save lenses to an app that the user has Editor or Manager access to.

• D. Ensure the user has the Use Analytics permission: This option is irrelevant for this requirement, as it does not affect the user's capabilities within an apphttps://www.salesforceben.com/salesforce-crm-analytics/. The Use Analytics permission is a system permission that allows the user to access Tableau CRM in generalhttps://www.salesforceben.com/salesforce-crm-analytics/. This permission is necessary but not sufficient for the user to view a dashboard within a designated apphttps://www.salesforceben.com/salesforce-crm-analytics/
