B,C. We all agree re External Objects. But some may be unsure about Big Objects? Well ofcourse they are ideal to handle large volumes of data in an archival state and, no you can't report directly from them, BUT, However, you can still access and analyze the data stored in Big Objects by leveraging other tools and features in Salesforce. For example, you can use SOQL queries to retrieve data from Big Objects and perform custom calculations or aggregations. You can also build custom Lightning components or Visualforce pages to display the queried data in a customized format.

Selected Answer: BC
External Object is an obvious answer, can store the data outside of SF and still reference it for reports and stuff Big Objects let you SOURCE massive amounts of EXTERNAL data into SF

Answer is A and B. Big objects records are not displayed in UI automatically. As in the question, it is asked "UC would still like to use reports, queries, and lookups on the archived information", hence Big objects cannot be an option.

It's BC You can archive data from OTHER ORBJECTS or bring datasets from outside systems into a big object to get a full view of your customer" https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.custom_index.htm&type=5 So basically you continue to have the Custom Objects available but you storage their data on a big object
