As we need sum up then we have to go for MD. Obviously when we delete Applicat we should delete Application. Same can be case with Position - once deleted we should delete Applications. I think this case is defined in D and not A.

It's an A. When creating master-detail field on the object, the object treats as child, then you choose "the master" object it will be related to. As in the question, you need to be Application as a child in 2 master-details: 1st field related to Applicant 2nd field related to Position
