Child objects don’t have a share-record of their own and will be shared along with the master record.

Selected Answer: C
The records in a detail object cannot have any sharing rules exclusively applicable to itself. All sharing rules for a detail record are inherited from its master record. You need to create sharing rules for Object A (so Object B inherits it). https://salesforce.stackexchange.com/questions/388943/if-object-a-is-master-and-object-b-is-detail-owd-for-object-a-is-private-can-y

It is a trick question -> "The organization-wide default for Internships has been set to private and is the master in the master-detail relationship with Applications." - they use WITH Applications, so Applications is Master detail too. Answer A.

That's not what that means at all, it is not a trick. It is a very normal way of describing the master-detail relationship between two objects. "Parent is the master in the master-detail relationship with Child." Since the child object can NOT have its own sharing rules separate from the parent the sharing rule must be on the Master object, in this case that is the Internships object which is the master/parent of the Application object which is the child/detail. The answer is C. Details objects can't have separate sharing rules. It inherits the sharing properties of the master object.
