Custom Formula Fields are used to perform calculations and generate values based on other fields within the same object. They cannot directly reference fields or data from related objects. Custom Formula Fields can reference other formula fields, standard fields, and custom fields within the same object to derive their values. A is wrong, I created 5 formula field(Score) in lead, based on checkbox, then total Score (defined that as a sum of those 5 f-fields), then no of stars f-field(based on if(score) condition)

If your formula requires more characters, create separate formula fields and reference them in another formula field.

Cust formula fields can use another formula filed but cannot calculate across objects. They can calculate only that object and its child’s fields with 5 levels.
