I also think it should be data mapping and you've got DLOs https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.c360_a_data_mapping.htm&type=5

Selected Answer: B
Identity Resolution is the process of unifying and deduplicating customer profiles across multiple data sources. It ensures that the data is accurately matched and merged into a single, unified view of the customer. Without Identity Resolution, the ingested data may contain duplicate or fragmented profiles, leading to inaccurate segmentation and activation. Data mapping is typically done during the ingestion phase to ensure that the data is correctly structured and aligned with the target schema. It is not a prerequisite for segmentation and activation after ingestion is complete.

Selected Answer: B
This step is crucial because it ensures that the data from different sources is accurately matched and merged to create unified profiles. This unification allows for more effective segmentation and activation of the data.

Once data streams have been ingested into Salesforce Data Cloud, the next critical step is Identity Resolution. This process ensures that data from different sources is unified into a single profile per individual by matching and merging records based on configured rules (e.g., email, phone number, or other identifiers). Without resolving identities, segmenting and acting on the data may result in duplicate or incomplete profiles.

Selected Answer: A
Data mapping or Identity resolution is done before segmentation however IR is not "required" for config because there are four preconfigured default match rules to choose from: https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.c360_a_match_rules_criteria.htm&type=5

I think it should be identity resolution because the question asks what should be done prior to segmentation not after ingesting data.

I believe it is A as ingestion is just bring data into data cloud. You still have to map into DMOs and then do the IR and rest of operations.
