Selected Answer: C
C is correct. I created a custom Date field and populated it in some test records. I then changed the field type to Date/Time and when doing so there was a prompt saying by changing the field type I would lose all historic data. I changed it and then checked my test records and all the values had been cleared and were blank.

Historical data does not get updated ever. It can be deleted and that's it. If you'd spend 5 minutes on creating data and data/time fields in test org. Then changing them. You'd see that in both cases you experience complete data loss.

Thanks for the sharing, however, I think the answer should be C coz the question states 'change the current field type that is used from Date to Date/Time' NOT using the DATETIMEVALUE( date ) function that the time will be set to 12:00 a.m. in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), and then converted to the time zone of the user viewing the record when it’s displayed.
