Project acceptance criteria include on-site training for the new users of a system. Due to unforeseen circumstances, all team members have to work remotely for an indefinite period of time.
What should the project manager do?
A.
Reschedule on-site training to online sessions.
B.
Document the project issue and provide options.
Its an issue not to fulfill the acceptance criteria. the issue should be documented and discussed. don't make assumption on the question - the project might be for a dancing event so dancers cant perform virtually.
To me, B is the correct answer.
As a project manager you don't just make one-way decisions. It should always be a collaborative decision. Option A is forcing. Option B is providing options for a team meeting to go over the options and hear out other team members. Also, not able to fulfil the acceptance criteria is an issue for successfully completing the project. PM needs to document the issue and have a discussion with the team.
I agree with Option A, as there is no forcing if the they cannt do the onsite due to unforeseen circumstances its not forcing but logical step to have it done online..
Rescheduling on-site training to online sessions allows the project to still meet the original acceptance criteria (training new users) while adjusting to the new constraints (remote work). Online training is a practical solution that addresses the training needs of the users without compromising the quality or the timeliness of the project deliverables.
A. Reschedule on-site training to online sessions.
Since the project acceptance criteria include on-site training, the project manager should adapt to the new circumstances by moving the training to an online format. This ensures that the project still meets the acceptance criteria while addressing the challenge of remote work. It's important to maintain the integrity of the deliverables, even if the method of delivery has to be adjusted.
The other options may be considered in conjunction with rescheduling the training, but moving to online sessions is the most practical solution to keep the project on track.
While rescheduling on-site training to online sessions (option A) is a viable solution to adapt to the remote work situation, option B remains the most comprehensive approach. Documenting the project issue and providing options allows for a more thorough consideration of the situation. It involves stakeholders in the decision-making process and ensures that all aspects, including potential alternatives, are adequately addressed.
The best course of action would be to document the project issue and provide options (Option B). This allows the project manager to communicate the situation, outline potential solutions, and collaborate with stakeholders to determine the most suitable alternative for the on-site training.
In first answer (A) dont say if to reschedule for the members that already have training season or for the new one. If reschedule fro the team membersthat had training so the correct answer is B. If it for the new one so the answer is A
option B in a way cover option A, documenting the issue and discussing or providing alternate is important to get stakeholder buyin and alignment/approval on revised acceptance criteria,..online training can be one of the options, documentation, extended support by project team etc. can also be "some" of other viable options..
With all team members working remotely for an indefinite period of time, it would be best for the project manager to reschedule on-site training to online sessions. This will ensure that the new users of the system can still receive the necessary training, while also taking into consideration the current circumstances. The project manager should communicate this change to the relevant stakeholders and update the project plan accordingly.
agreed. A provides an solution for resolving the issue. B not making any sense because 'work remote indefinitely'. B means no training at all, give document to you to self study only
