Selected Answer: C
The project manager should prioritize **C. Delivering business value as soon as possible**. In a highly competitive market, speed and value delivery are crucial. By focusing on delivering business value early and often, the project can start realizing benefits sooner, which can help increase the commercial value of the product. This approach also aligns with the incremental construction of the prototype, allowing for continuous feedback and adjustments to ensure that the product meets market needs.

Selected Answer: C
In a project aimed at increasing the commercial value of a product through the creation of a prototype, the priority should be to: C. Deliver business value as soon as possible. Delivering business value early in the project, even in the form of a prototype or a minimum viable product (MVP), allows the company to start realizing benefits and validate the project's direction. This early delivery can also help gather user feedback, make necessary adjustments, and inform the development process. It aligns with agile and iterative approaches, which emphasize delivering value incrementally to meet customer and business needs. Kanban, the PDCA cycle, and sponsor awareness are important aspects of project management but may not directly address the priority of delivering business value early in this context.

Project managers can use Deming's Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle as a tool to help ensure the right change is implemented. You should get ahead of the competitors and deliver business value first. Even if you have the right change tools, if you can't deliver it fast enough, it's pointless.

PDCA is for time-sensetive projects. In this case deadline / limited time is not the issue. Because there is highly competitive market, business value is more important

Selected Answer: C
In a project where the goal is to increase the commercial value of a product through the creation of a prototype, the priority should be to deliver business value as quickly as possible. The scenario mentions that the prototype is being constructed incrementally. This suggests that the project is likely following an agile or iterative approach, aiming to deliver tangible results in smaller increments. Option D: Implementing a PDCA cycle is a continuous improvement approach that can be beneficial, but it might not be the immediate priority when the project's primary goal is to deliver incremental business value.

It's C. Limitation of PDCA - "Although the PDCA Cycle is a versatile technique, it isn’t suitable for time-sensitive projects."

Selected Answer: D
What is incremental prototype? In incremental prototyping, separate small prototypes are built in parallel. The individual prototypes are evaluated and refined separately, and then merged into a comprehensive whole, which can then be evaluated for consistency in look, feel, behavior, and terminology.

The Plan-do-check-act Procedure Plan: Recognize an opportunity and plan a change. Do: Test the change. Carry out a small-scale study. Check: Review the test, analyze the results, and identify what you've learned. Act: Take action based on what you learned in the study step.

Prototyping is the concept of Lean startup ... Lean talks about PDCA cycle... They planned the prototyped, developed ... next is check(deploy) and act ( take feedback) ...so I guess D is correct... Business value is evaluated after one iteration of PDCA cycle

In a highly competitive market, time-to-market is critical to ensure the commercial success of a product. Therefore, the project manager should prioritize delivering business value as soon as possible, option C. The project team should focus on delivering a minimum viable product (MVP) that can be tested in the market and refined based on feedback. This will allow the company to gain a competitive advantage by entering the market faster than its competitors and refining the product based on customer feedback. The use of incremental development can help achieve this by breaking down the project into smaller, more manageable increments that can be tested and refined.

I think the use of prototyping in this question is an irrelevant distraction. if you remove the prototyping element, does that change the answer? I think C is correct if so.
