I believe the answer is A. The root cause seems to be over commitments. D doesn't solve it.

I agree with option D. The PM noticed the team is stressed so he need to work with them and see how they can manage the stress. Option A would be good if the question is asking what the PM should have done

Option D suggests organizing regular stress-relieving and team-building sessions. While stress-relieving and team-building activities can be beneficial, they should not be the primary solution to address the issue. The focus should be on addressing the root cause of overcommitment and ensuring realistic commitments are made during the planning phase.

Question states what 'should' the PM do and not what 'should have' been done ? The project is in Execution stage as they are already delivering value, so the answer should be D, not A (in planning stage)

Selected Answer: A
Root cause is overcommitment so A will help resolve team's stress. D can't solve root cause. If team keeps committing over capacity then they will soon exhaust. Don't let the word "critical" confuse you. If the project if behind schedule, there are techniques to compress the schedule or negotiate on scope / other approaches.

I don't believe that's correct. It's asking what can the project manager do "now", not what "should" have been done. At this point the they're already in the middle of the project, well past the planning phase, so the only thing the PM can do now, is to help reduce the stress. Answer = D

Selected Answer: A
the problem is the stress but the cause is work overload. Doing stress-relieving activities (D) resolves the effect but not the cause, so the stress returns.
