Selected Answer: C
The communications management plan outlines how project communications will be conducted, but it doesn’t directly address how to engage with stakeholders. While this may eventually be done, the first and most important step is to update the stakeholder engagement plan to define how to engage with the new stakeholder effectively.

as per reddit if a new stakeholder joins the project, here are the things what PM should do 1. Meet with the project sponsor to learn if new roles have been created. 2. Review the stakeholder register. 3. Submit a change request to the change control board (CCB). 4. Update the stakeholder management plan. So as per question FIRST thing to do is to update the stakeholder management plan to include the new stakeholder. THEN arrange a meeting to discuss about the project status, benefits, stakeholder's role and responsibilities etc. so in order to enhance the success of the project, PM has to start with option C.

Sorry guys , this question is very tricky. since the PM wants the new stakeholder to "AWARE" the benefits, costs, risks etc of project and the main question is how should the PM enhance the project success? so the option D is the best.

#A. The question was asking "What the PM should do to enhance the success..." Then, schedule a meeting with the stakeholder is the best possible answer. But, notice how the answer pivot to #C if the question aske "What should the PM do first to enhance..." Then, updating the stakeholder management plan is the best possible answer.

They are all good answers in that yes you will add them to the engagement plan and communications plan BUT if you are trying to enhance success and stakeholder wants to be fully aware of goals objectives, etc. then you need to meet and discuss in detail to achieve that.

I think A, to meet the new stakeholder's needs, you first have to do direct communication with the stakeholder.

when a new stakeholder comes up, we need to follow all the stakeholder mgmt processes from Identify Stakeholders through Plan and Manage. The first step should be to update the risk register, then the engagement plan & comm plan. Therefore, the PM needs to meet with the stakeholder to understand their role, expectations and needs.

Why not directly schedule a meeting with this new stakeholder? Just add the new stakeholder in communication management plan will NOT notify the historical information such as charter and background information. You need to identify what kind of this new stakeholder would be ,and at what style/frequency you will communicate with he/she.

D - Adding the new stakeholder to your communication management plan will define the "how" to communicate. Great strategy to build connection and alignment.
