Selected Answer: B
The point here is "misunderstandings". The project manager needs to bring the team members together to alleviate the gap. It could be a luncheon, teambuilding activity, or whatever. Let me ask you. Can the project manager clear up their misunderstandings by "asking them how to spend the reward."?

A is a better answer, C is possible too, cant be B. Luncheons and team building activities are done for engagement NOT for working overtime, also, we need to understand the difference between recognition and reward

Has anyone seen the Office episode where Michael and Jim put beans on printouts of faces of all the people at work to select someone for promotion? Well, it ended up being chaotic. I choose A.

The project manager should **arrange a luncheon for all team members and include team-building sessions** (Option B). This approach not only provides a well-deserved break for the team but also fosters team spirit and camaraderie. Team-building sessions can help address misunderstandings and improve communication among team members. Moreover, it ensures that the reward benefits all team members equally and is used in a manner that contributes to the overall team morale and project success. It's important to remember that rewards should be used in a way that acknowledges the team's hard work and promotes a positive and collaborative work environment.

Why not option B. The team has misunderstanding. Doesn't the team require more of team building sessions for them to collaborate and work together peacefully?

C. Draft a points system to allocate a portion of the money for each resource. This approach involves a fair and systematic allocation of the award based on each team member's contribution and effort to address the scheduling delays and meet critical milestones. It can help recognize and reward individual and team performance. Options A (asking the team how to spend the reward) may have merit, but they do not directly address the fair and equitable distribution of the award based on contributions

Just a comment, does anyone see anytime in any company within a predictive project scope that the team members decide how the bonuses or the awards will be shared within the team? By other side, the question said that the extra hours situation induced into missunderstandings among the team members, it shows that the team doesn´t have a big maturity neither a big team work. Does the company have any need to generate another situation of missunderstanding and discussions within the team??

By last point, the question said the the award will be monetary award, it seems that the money will be directly shared within the team members, I will go with option C.

Bard: "The monetary award is a way for the project sponsor to show appreciation for the team's hard work and dedication. By asking the team members how they would like to spend the award, the project manager is giving them a sense of ownership and control over the process. This can help to boost morale and team unity.
