  • A. Brought both teams together in a joint meeting to resolve the issue
  • B. Made some adjustments to BMS to be more suitable for the teams

I agree with D. The questions get tricky sometimes with the end, I think thats really the trick to beating this exam. This particular question asks "What should they have done?" Not "What should they do" or "what should they do next" The issue is that neither of them know how to operate it. If this was a design flaw that made it over-complicated, that would be an issue where the team could get with operations and train them, but the issue here is that its such a complex software by nature that the team can build it but not know how to operate it/how things interact with each other. A was recommended, but having the team meet with operations through any point in the project is usually a net negative for both the team and operations, and in this case, meeting won't do anything because the team also doesn't know how to work the software.

Agree. the qn mentions about operating the BMS. So a training is the right option

If D is right I am just asking myself who on earth could develop and provide training if even the project team doesn't understand how the damn software thing is working :-)

I think it’s like the project team also haven’t consider the user practice. If can prepare the training in early stage, then they can also understand more and make necessary change. So beneficial to both project team and operation to practically how to use the BMS in real life.

First I went with A since as a leader you just gather folks to make a decision. Later on D make more scene since they need training.

we dont know if training is the answer, or if we have money budgeted or enough (contingency) for the training of many people in a team. We need to find answers to solve the issue, or check the risk register to see if we planned for this risk. What if we find out that there is something wrong with the system, and after we spend money on training, it does not solve the issue.

Properly allocating resources for training on the BMS is essential to ensure that both teams have the necessary knowledge and skills to operate the system effectively. This should have been included in the project plan from the early stages of the project. Adequate training would have prepared both teams for a smooth transition during the handover phase, reducing the risk of schedule delays and ensuring the system's proper operation.

Why not B? They should design a product that they themselves know how to use it, if not adjust asap

because the product is already at commissioning phase and will soon handover to Ops team, too late to redesign. so answer is training ppl on how to use the current product

the question is "what should have done". hence, if more allocation to training was done earlier, this situation will not have happened.
