Dear professors in the field of project management, please pay attention to the question! There have been no problems yet and no communication requirements have been raised that we need to teach them about the software. We monitor the process and if there is a problem, we take action.

If you are a reactive PM, then you are doomed to fail! PM's should always be proactive!!

Ans D means that you are waiting for things to happen. So I will go for B. Why wait for performance to drop then take action? Do something to prevent it rather than fixing it

Dear Mr. ARROGANT (that you proved by calling others as professors) your explanation goes on to prove that you are not only arrogant but lack clarity on concepts like proactive actions. I sense you must have heard about COVID? If a similar pandemic happens again do you think Manufacturing plants' employees will wait for situation to get out of hand and then deploy the solution? Do you drive? If yes then don't you wear the seat belt to ensure nothing bad happens? That's proactive thinking. That's what others WHO YOU DEMEANED BY CALLING Professors are taking about. bet you can't be a good servant leader

the question didn't say the performance dropped! so why do you put in cost of virtual tools?? first monitor the performance as (D) and step in if the performance dropped and suggest (A). this is how I see it.

This is a typical agile question on team collaboration; the word "performing" doesn't mean performance; it's the last stage of team bonding after norming stage. It means the team needs to collaborate on the role. The answer should be B; since they can't co-locate, they need virtual interaction to maintain the team bond.

Performing definitely means performance, what else would be the criteria to decide the stages of team, if team is not performing team will stay in earlier stages

but it does say it has cause issues with the team right? just the -ve impact is not shown yet and it is almost common sense that proactive measure as to be taken to prevent the issues from even occurred. .. that is my understanding

Selected B on second thought D Think of it this way.. the team is at performing stage meaning they’ve moved from norming- understanding each other to performing- collaborating stage . The question didn’t say the project ended because the team was dispersed, while they can’t co-locate they are obviously working virtually, since they’ve come to understand each other and also at a collaborative stage of team.. the PM should in this scenario observe the team’s performance, project progress and do something if this is not met.

Situation in the team has changed and I as a project manager seek out proactively how can I support to enable team to perform in these change conditions. So I create environment best I can and on top of that I will evaluate performance of course. So for me better answer is B.

B is the answer as per PMBOK. Read: Principle of Team, Performance Domain of Team, Agile Mindset. D is reactive rather than proactive.

Pay attention to the fact that the team has been working for a long while. In the Tuckmans pmodel, they are in the performing stage thus respect a core agile priciple of self organising and performing teams in producing value, and the project leader being a servant leader he is more like a facilitator and steps in only when impediments are arise that the team can't handle and which impacts team performance negetively. In the situation described, the team should try and figure out and adapt rapidly to this "Force Majeur" while the project manager keeps monotoring their performance. In case performances drop to unacceptable values, root cause analyses is performed and adequate corrective measures are implemented. Answer B could just be one of the solutions un communication is deemed pointed out as the main cause of the drop in performance.

Hint is this team "worked together long enough to be in the performing phase of team development" and should be self-organized enough to perform continuously even with the fact that co-locate unexpectedly happened. PM as servant leader of this agile team should empower continuously as long as the performance is still manageable. Thus PM firstly need to understand if the project is still within team control or not before step in for further actions. D is the best choice under PMP mindset.

Selected Answer: B
Provided by chat GPT (summarized): The correct answer to the multiple-choice question is B. Provide the team with virtual collaboration software and training on the software to minimize disruption. It is not: Option A, might provide some motivational support, but it does not directly address the challenge of the team being dispersed. Option C, is not the most appropriate solution in this situation. Switching project management approaches is a significant change and may not be necessary or beneficial solely due to the team's dispersion. Option D, is important, but it does not directly address how to keep the team performing effectively after they have been dispersed. Therefore, option B is the most appropriate choice as it focuses on providing the necessary tools and training to facilitate effective virtual collaboration and minimize disruption caused by the team's dispersion.

Proactive approach vice a reactive approach that may be too late to implement once risks become issues. Remember, adapting to change is essential in project management. Equipping the team with the right tools ensures they can continue performing effectively
