Selected Answer: A
Given the constraints, the project manager can utilize the existing team's expertise to bridge the skill gap. By introducing a mentoring program, they can: - Pair experienced engineers with less experienced team members - Facilitate knowledge sharing and skills transfer - Develop the team's capabilities without hiring new engineers This approach leverages the team's existing strengths to address the skill gap, making it a cost-effective and efficient solution.

A. Introduce a mentoring program to facilitate knowledge sharing (Leveraging Internal Resources). By introducing a mentoring program, the project manager can utilize the expertise of existing skilled engineers (if any) to train and mentor less experienced team members. This helps in building the necessary skills within the team without incurring additional costs or time.

C The project manager should reevaluate the project requirements and explore alternative solutions with the current team, such as task breakdowns, training, or partnerships, due to budget constraints preventing hiring or outsourcing. Adigun

Selected Answer: C
This approach addresses the immediate need for skilled engineers and allows the project to move forward. It also invests in the team’s development, which can benefit future projects. While this may extend the project timeline, it is a practical solution given the constraints.

Selected Answer: B
The best option for the project manager in this situation would depend on various factors, but considering the constraints mentioned, option B seems to be a practical approach. Changing the scope to include only the work that the team is currently qualified to do can help in delivering a feasible project within the available resources. Therefore, the recommended option is: B. Change the scope to include only the work that the team is qualified to do.

Selected Answer: C
Given the constraints of outsourcing not being an option and the unavailability of engineers with the required skills, adding extra time for training during the course of the project can be a practical solution. This approach allows the current team to acquire the necessary skills gradually, minimizing the impact on the project schedule. It also aligns with a proactive risk management strategy, acknowledging the skills gap and addressing it through a planned training period. Introducing a mentoring program (option A) is a good practice, but it might not provide an immediate solution to the skills gap. Changing the scope (option B) might compromise the project's objectives. Using the management reserve (option D) is typically reserved for unforeseen risks or changes that impact the project and is not a sustainable solution for skills development.

You're planning the project still, you need to have proper training and adding time will help with the training since nobody knows how to accomplish the tasks.

Ans C Since the project is in planning phase, the best bet is to add some time so it covers for all training needs. Then they can figure out if knowledge sharing or mentoring or training options. So my ans would be C.

Implementing a mentoring program allows leveraging existing expertise within the team to bridge the skill gap. This approach enables experienced team members to share knowledge, guide, and mentor their colleagues, facilitating skill development without incurring additional costs. Therefore, initiating a mentoring program emerges as the most practical step to enhance the team's capabilities within the given constraints.
