Selected Answer: B
B. Allow the project team to discuss the problem with this team member. Encouraging open communication within the project team is essential when dealing with performance issues. Allowing the project team to discuss the problem with the team member provides an opportunity for constructive feedback, understanding different perspectives, and collectively finding solutions. It promotes team collaboration and accountability. While speaking to the team member individually (option A) might be necessary, involving the entire project team in the discussion helps build a supportive and collaborative environment. Discussing the issue with the team member's functional manager (option C) or informing the HR department (option D) can be considered if the performance issues persist and require additional support or intervention.

In agile projects, direct communication and collaboration within the team are indeed valued. Agile promotes open and transparent communication. While it's true that direct communication between the project manager and team members is often encouraged, the approach can vary based on the specific context and organizational culture. If the performance issue is perceived as a minor concern or a misunderstanding, having a direct conversation with the team member may be a suitable first step. However, if the issue persists or if it's more complex, involving the functional manager can provide additional insights and support. Ultimately, agile emphasizes flexibility and adaptability, so the approach can be tailored to the specific circumstances and the team's dynamics. It's important to foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration, seeking the best ways to address challenges and enhance team performance.

Performance issue is PM responsibility. Team member may not have the skill or drive, or even not aware it is due to that tester.

Rather than relying on a top-down direction from a project manager, Agile Scrum teams are self-organizing, collaborating and communicating as a group to drive work forward and decide what to focus on next.

Selected Answer: B
The correct answer is B. Allow the project team to discuss the problem with this team member. In an agile environment, self-organizing teams are empowered to manage their work and address issues internally. Encouraging open communication within the team and allowing them to discuss challenges can promote understanding and collaboration. This approach aligns with the principles of agile, emphasizing team interactions and solutions. Team discussions can lead to identifying underlying issues and finding ways to support the member in question. If the problem persists, further interventions, such as involving the project manager or functional manager, may become necessary, but the first step should be to allow the team to address the issue.

Agile doesn´t address this kind of things as directly as this option A describe, by other side the team doesn´t have a clear number of tries to solve an issue, the will learn a lot during the solving process and they will be an stronger team trough testand mistake process.
