Selected Answer: A
The best answer here is A. Understand the root cause of this issue and recommend discussing their differences to find common ground. Here's why: The Scrum Master's role is to facilitate the team's success. This includes helping the team resolve conflicts and find solutions. Option B is a good step, but it's not the first step. The Scrum Master should first understand the root cause of the conflict before calling a team meeting. Option C is not a good idea. The Scrum Master should not let the team members resolve the conflict on their own, especially if it's impacting the sprint's progress. Option D is also not a good idea. The Scrum Master should not escalate the issue to the functional manager unless it's absolutely necessary.

Selected Answer: A
A = correct. The teams are self-organized and they have to find a solution by themselves B = not correct. SM cannot direct the teams on how to collaborate, he can facilitate the collaboration process and communication between the teams C = not correct. The conflict is already there and it cannot be handled by the teams. SM involvement is mandatory D = not correct. Not an option, at all.
