Selected Answer: D
D is a better answer, because if you review lessons-learned, you can show the team how success was achieved or obstacles were overcome. This is better than just explaining objectives.

Selected Answer: B
Focus on outcomes, not specifics: In an adaptive approach, detailed plans might become obsolete quickly. By outlining the overarching goals and expected outcomes, the project manager empowers the team to work within parameters but adapt their methods based on new information and changing circumstances. Collaboration and buy-in: Clearly communicating the project's goals and purpose fosters collaboration and engagement among team members. They can understand how their specific tasks contribute to the bigger picture, leading to higher involvement and ownership. Expert utilization: By focusing on objectives, the project manager leverages the specialized skills of their team members effectively. Experts can utilize their knowledge and experience to find the best solutions within the defined boundaries of the objectives.

At first glace, to me the answer is B but the question asked what would the PM do NEXT...using this I would say that they would review the lessons learnt before they discuss the objectives with the team.

Selected Answer: B
Option B, "Explain the higher-level objectives to be assigned to the team," is the most appropriate choice in an adaptive project setting. By communicating the overarching objectives, the project manager offers clear direction and purpose to the team. This approach ensures everyone understands the broader mission, leading to better alignment and collaboration. When team members grasp the ultimate goals, they are more inclined to be engaged and invested in the project's success, fostering stronger buy-in and unified efforts.

Selected Answer: B
Reviewing lessons learned from similar projects with the team (Option D) is a valuable practice but may not be the immediate next step in gaining buy-in for the project's approach. It can be part of the project planning process but should follow the step of explaining objectives to the team.

Based on the question, we are at the initial stage. No matter you are using adaptive or waterfall, you only have project charter and lesson learn for you to create a plan. 'Buy-in' is intentionally to confuse us.

I go with option B. They key of that question is not really how complex the project is but the Project Manager getting a buy-in from the team first.
