Team member explained, meaning that Project manager could also been unaware of the situation. Direct communication between project manager and project stakeholder shld be direct and clear to prevent any miscomms like this situation.

Selected Answer: B
To avoid this situation, the project manager should have ensured that effective communication took place and that the stakeholder was directly informed of the delivery delay. Therefore, option B, "Communicated with the stakeholder directly regarding the delivery delay," is the most appropriate choice. Direct communication helps in managing expectations, building trust, and providing stakeholders with timely and accurate information about project progress or challenges. It allows for a more proactive and transparent approach to handling project issues.

the PM already did communicate directly to the stakeholder. But, just because the email was sent does not mean that the stakeholder read it - it could've been sitting in their mailbox unread. so the nest step would've been to follow-up to confirm that they were aware of the delay, per the email.

Selected Answer: B
The primary responsibility for communication with stakeholders lies with the project manager. The project manager should take ownership of informing stakeholders, including the client or any other team members, about any delays, changes, or important updates related to the project. In the scenario mentioned earlier, where a stakeholder complained about not receiving an important delivery on time, the project manager should have directly communicated with the stakeholder about the delivery delay. This direct communication ensures that the stakeholder is informed promptly and avoids any misunderstandings or delays caused by reliance solely on team members to communicate such critical information.

If PM sends the email. We still have to confirm that the stakeholder has received the information or not. So I think A is the correct answer for this case.

As a project manager you want to be “expressive” in your communications. Project managers who are expressive in their communications are better able to engage stakeholders and keep them committed throughout the project initiative. They communicate effectively by enabling for a two-way conversation with stakeholders.

B. Communicated with the stakeholder directly regarding the delivery delay. While it's important for the team member responsible for the deliverable to communicate the delay, it is ultimately the project manager's responsibility to ensure that the stakeholder is aware of any changes in the schedule or delivery. The project manager should have communicated directly with the stakeholder regarding the delay and worked with them to develop a plan for how to proceed.
