I chose D. But after read the correct answer and question. the question focuses on preventing this situation from happening in the future, rather than finding a solution to the current problem. With this mindset, "A. Performed a stakeholder analysis when the sponsor joined the project" is indeed worth considering.

This is not a predictive approach so stakeholder analysis is not needed. The question says it’s an incremental approach so the project sponsor should have attended review. Making D the correct answer.

D. New sponsor needs to be brought up to speed to get aligned. Stakeholder analysis was done. Only new sponsor has misalignment. D is the best way to handle this.

By identifying and analyzing the sponsor's expectations, needs, and influence on the project, the project manager can better understand their priorities and adjust the project artifacts and deliverables accordingly. Additionally, the stakeholder analysis will help the project manager to identify potential risks and issues that may arise due to the sponsor's involvement in the project.

Conducting a product iteration review with the new project sponsor (option D) would have been helpful, but it may not have prevented the situation entirely. It is essential to ensure that the new sponsor is well-informed about the project's progress and understands the project's goals and objectives.
