You have to put the lif in down state after that you assign it to a new node and modify the state back on .
An alternative is to restroy the lif and recreate it with the same npiv .
In this context B&D are correct .
Note that on ASA you can live migrate ISCSI lifs ; on AFF/FAS you can not do that.
