as an HVAC contractor and service tech for 9 years now, I always check the Drain line 1st. I did not find exactly the answer on the book, but there is section on HVAC Inspection Manual, 2016 Edition, page 2, section D. Condensate Drains that does says that an incorrect slope is A reason why it would happen. Does not means it is the 1st thing I or anyone would check. So I am staying with option D
