Because a dish is used in other parts of the solution (like rating), it should be a custom table. There is no actual reference to Student type in the text, but students can be a cooking class participate. Since there are multiple students that can participate in multiple cooking classes I would go for Connection role for at least the helpers. The chef student could also be a lookup column on a cooking class.

According to me it is: Custom table Custom column (Choice) - as there are only two Student types (a chef and a helper)

I think since we only have 2 types of students which are helper or chef then we can use the custom column of type choice.

1. Dish = custom table. 2. student type = lookup column. type has no connections but lookup to other tables like helpers, chef..etc

I am thinking of Student Type as a column on the Student Entity, wouldn't that be a Lookup column? Why Connection role?

Students are users in the system. They use it to enroll and register classes, etc. Hence, they better stay as connections against a cooking class.

The only student types I see or chef or helper so there's no need for a lookup type column with only 2 types.
