A company is evaluating virtualization services. You need to determine the difference between Microsoft 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop. Which feature is unique to Microsoft 365?
A.
Users can sign into a dedicated virtual machine.
B.
Users can rename their assigned virtual machine.
C.
Administrators can assign users to the local administrators group on the virtual machine.
D.
Administrators can connect the virtual machine to an on-premises network.
E.
Administrators can manage the virtual machines by using Microsoft Endpoint Manager.
Pretty sure its A: https://getnerdio.com/academy/windows-365-vs-azure-virtual-desktop-avd-comparing-two-daas-products/
I am assuming 'Microsoft 365' refers to the Windows 365 service in this case. If that is the case, Azure virtual desktops are a shared resource whereas Windows 365 provides a dedicated virtual machine for each user.
Answer is E: Microsoft Endpoint Manager is integrated with Windows 365 (part of Microsoft 365), allowing administrators to manage Cloud PCs using the same tools they use for other devices. This integration is specific to Microsoft 365 and is not a feature of Azure Virtual Desktop.
WIndows 365 Enterprise can be managed by Endpoint Manager AVN not, Azure Portal is the management portal and not much can be done to AVDs
https://getnerdio.com/resources/windows-365-vs-azure-virtual-desktop-avd-comparing-two-daas-products/
I think am going with B now. It seems you cannot rename AVDs
This is from a thread
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/49756148/change-azure-virtual-machine-name-in-azure-portal#:~:text=In%20Azure%20VM%20resources%20names,name%20following%20the%20previous%20disks.&text=You%20can%20not%20rename%20VM,to%20other%2Fchange%20resource%20group.
In other places I could read how AVDs can be managed with Intune
This is from MD 102 learning
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/training/modules/manage-windows-365/2-explore-windows-365
Nothing about renaming AVD in the AVD sektion
A. AVD can offer dedicated VMs too
B. Seems to be the answer:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/renaming-cloud-pcs-with-windows-365-4ddec2c3-e77a-4ca6-94b7-eee13711bfc2
C. Local Admin is possible on both
D. On-Prem connection possible on both
E. Both can me managed through intune
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/fundamentals/azure-virtual-desktop
So B is the answer
B. Users can rename their assigned virtual machine.
This feature allows users to rename their virtual machine, which is not a capability provided by Azure Virtual Desktop. The other options may be available in both Microsoft 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop.
ChatGPT:
Azure Virtual Desktop (formerly known as Windows Virtual Desktop) is a virtualization service that enables you to set up, manage, and scale a complete virtualized multi-session Windows environment. It includes options like connecting to on-premises networks, managing local administrators, and user management for dedicated virtual machines.
Microsoft 365, on the other hand, is a suite of productivity and collaboration tools including Office applications, OneDrive, Teams, and more. Some versions of Microsoft 365 also include management capabilities through Microsoft Endpoint Manager.
Given the options presented, the feature that would be unique to Microsoft 365 and not part of Azure Virtual Desktop would be:
E. Administrators can manage the virtual machines by using Microsoft Endpoint Manager.
Hmm.
Manage Cloud PC (win365) using Intune - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-365/enterprise/device-management-overview
Manage AVD using Intune - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/fundamentals/azure-virtual-desktop
Both can be managed from Intune.
Key i renaming in my opinion.
Rename VM running on AVD:
"You can edit properties, tags or even resize Azure VMs after deployment. But, renaming Azure VMs or any other resources is not allowed"
Rename Windows 365 Cloud PC:
https://www.prajwaldesai.com/rename-windows-365-cloud-pc/
I choose: B
Pretty sure its A: https://getnerdio.com/academy/windows-365-vs-azure-virtual-desktop-avd-comparing-two-daas-products/
I am assuming 'Microsoft 365' refers to the Windows 365 service in this case. If that is the case, Azure virtual desktops are a shared resource whereas Windows 365 provides a dedicated virtual machine for each user.
I know people are questioning this, but it really does look like E is the answer, the other answers aren't possible with Windows 365.
Also Endpoint Manager does have support for Windows 365.
Cannot be E:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-desktop/management
We recommend using Microsoft Endpoint Manager to manage your Azure Virtual Desktop environment
Might be A:
A Windows 365 cloud PC is a VM that’s dedicated to a single user via permanent assignment.
https://getnerdio.com/academy/windows-365-vs-azure-virtual-desktop-avd-comparing-two-daas-products/
I think the answer is B. Users can rename their assigned virtual machine.
I think the question should read ‘the difference between Windows 365 cloud PC’s and Azure virtual desktop (AVD)’
Also note that there are 2 very different types of Windows365 cloud PC; Enterprise (W365E ) and Business (W365B)
If you look at the link below – halfway down the page at ‘3c – User self-service’ there is an image showing ‘rename’
In ‘3c – User self-service’ it also says “AVD has limited self-service capabilities for end-users. For example, users cannot restart their own desktop VM or log off a hung session with the AVD client app.”
But also “Windows 365 cloud PCs can be restarted by the end-user without the need to contact support. ”
In the same link below I think it proves that D & E are incorrect;
E is incorrect;
W365B – “Business cloud PCs are not integrated with Endpoint Manager and do not have a dedicated management portal. They can only be managed by the end user assigned to the desktop while logged into it. “
D is incorrect;
W365B – “Business cloud PCs, do not have any network flexibility. Microsoft fully controls the IP addressing, traffic flow, and security of Business cloud PC networking.”
