Simultaneously Retention Policy configurable groups Group1 : EXO email/SharePoint site/OneDrive accounts/M365 Groups/Skype for Biz/EXO Public folders Group2 : Teams channel messages/Teams chats Group3 : Teams private channel messages Group4 : Yammer community messages/Yammer user messages => Number of required policies is 2 (Group1/Group2)

CORRECT. Retention settings must be applied automatically to all the data stored in SharePoint Online sites, OneDrive accounts, and Microsoft Teams channel messages, and the data must be retained for five years. Retention policy is Applied per Location. Microsoft "Teams channel messages" and/or Microsoft "Teams chat" requires a separate policy (note that it DOES NOT asks for "Microsoft Teams Private Mesages" - if it would we would require 3 Policies).
