[All PL-300 Questions]

You have a Microsoft Power BI report. The size of PBIX file is 550 MB. The report is accessed by using an App workspace in shared capacity of powerbi.com.
The report uses an imported dataset that contains one fact table. The fact table contains 12 million rows. The dataset is scheduled to refresh twice a day at 08:00 and 17:00.
The report is a single page that contains 15 AppSource visuals and 10 default visuals.
Users say that the report is slow to load the visuals when they access and interact with the report.
You need to recommend a solution to improve the performance of the report.
What should you recommend?

  • A. Change any DAX measures to use iterator functions.
  • B. Enable visual interactions.
  • C. Replace the default visuals with AppSource visuals.
  • D. Split the visuals onto multiple pages.

D is the correct answer. Because our report page contains a large number of visuals (both default and AppSource visuals) and users are experiencing slow load times, splitting the visuals onto multiple pages can help. This way, each page loads a subset of visuals, reducing the initial load time and improving the overall performance of the report. Users can navigate between pages to access different sets of visuals.

In case you are not sure about D, you could also simply dismiss the solutions A, B and C and this would confirm D solution A- there are not details about what measures are set for the report so not clear improving DAX measures would improve visuals load B- no indication visual interactions are disabled (by default they are not). In cas ethey would be disabled , enbling them I think would even make worse the visual interaction as there would be more details for PBI to take care of C-no details on what visuals are used in the report and what are the AppSource visuals either so again it's not clear how this could improve visual load (I would say default PBI visuals should have better performance than AppSource ones though) D- spliting all visuals onto multiple pages would result in redied number of visuals to be loaded/refreshed when users would be moving page to page, so this should improve visuals load

D is correct. Each visual is a individual query that is triggered once the report page is opened. Logically, the more visual there are on a single report page the slower the report will become. Splitting the report in multiple report pages would be the impropriate solution.
