As of Version 10.0.29 is is on and mandatory. Prior to this it was switched on or off via Feature management.. So C is correct https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/supply-chain/master-planning/planning-optimization/planned-order-firming

I mean C was correct - now it is B "Grouping and marking options for auto-firming take their values from the Standard update tab on the Master planning parameters page"

As of Supply Chain Management version 10.0.21, this feature is turned on by default. As of Supply Chain Management 10.0.25, this feature is mandatory and can't be turned off. If you're running a version older than 10.0.25, then you can turn this functionality on or off by going to Feature management and searching for the Parallel firming of planned orders feature. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/supply-chain/master-planning/planning-optimization/planned-order-firming

The question is how to do it from master planning solution not planning optimization. So from master planning solution we should use time fences in days for firming defined on maste plan parameters. I would choose B

Before that we have to enable auto firming in feature management. If the question was asking for manual firming then your reasoning would be correct. C is correct

Before Auto-firm planned orders feature can be used with Planning Optimization, the Auto-firming for Planning Optimization feature must be turned on in your system. I think it is why the answer of this question is correct.

Because auto firming is not enabled by default. It needs to be enabled in feature management first
