Is "add the guest to the team from the Teams admin center" really the right answer? I would go for "add the guests domain to the allowed domains list" Why? Because if you can a domain there, then guest access must be enabled and when adding the domain to the list, it must work to add the guest user to the team.

Solution got changed at this question. Now it's enable guest access.

There is no "guest domain", there is an external domain :)
