This is so vague and causes all this debate, wasn't this test suppose to be a clear training tool? That's I feel no confidence in paying for these things

Welcome to the wonderful world of Microsoft exams. Could be worse. 15 years ago the questions read "which of the following is not the correct answer, choose all that apply" - A through Q. "You should not do this to fix the problem". So double negative, no clear direction on how many correct answers there were, and it went up to friggen Q!!!!

There are always some random dudes complaining about how hard an exam is. If you don't want the exam, simply don't pass it.

I feel like it is done by purpose. The Microsoft Learn materials and practice exams are just not enough to get ready for these types of questions (maybe it's enough for someone smarter / for one that uses Microsoft products on daily basis, but not for me). I have 4 certifications and this (hopefully) is going to be my 5th one, but this one has the most discussions about the correct answers, other certifications (the fundamental ones) are easier and mostly everyone agrees on 1 answer.

Selected Answer: B
Given the scenario where the finance department's site collection is encrypted using third-party software, the best approach would be to leave the encrypted data on-premises while migrating other services to Microsoft 365. This ensures that the encryption and security measures for the finance department remain intact while maximizing the migration of other services.

Selected Answer: B
Given that the finance department's site collection is currently encrypted using third-party software, it may be necessary to leave that data on-premises due to encryption and compliance requirements. Therefore, the best approach would be: B. Leave SharePoint data for finance department users on-premises. Migrate all other SharePoint data and Exchange mailboxes to Microsoft 365.

Selected Answer: B
The finance department's SharePoint site collection is encrypted with third-party software, which could make migrating it to Microsoft 365 challenging or non-compliant without addressing encryption compatibility. To maximize migration to Microsoft 365 while maintaining the current encryption for the finance department, other SharePoint data and Exchange mailboxes can be migrated to the cloud, leaving the encrypted data on-premises.

The third party encryption software needs to remain on prem, and the only data that would matter for finance is SharePoint not Exchange, so B.

Selected Answer: D
Both options, B and D, keep the finance department's data on-premises to ensure security and compliance. However, they have slight differences: B: Focuses on migrating all other SharePoint data and Exchange mailboxes to Microsoft 365 while specifically addressing the finance department's SharePoint data only. D: Specifies leaving both SharePoint data and mailboxes for finance department users on-premises. In this context, D is a better choice because it explicitly maintains the security of both the SharePoint data and the mailboxes for the finance department. This option comprehensively addresses potential security and compliance risks while allowing for a broader migration of other services to Microsoft 365. So, in my opinion the best option is D.

Leaving mailboxes on-premises for finance department users isn't necessary, as Exchange data can be moved without conflict. Answer is clearly B

B. Leave SharePoint data for finance department users on-premises. Migrate all other SharePoint data and Exchange mailboxes to Microsoft 365: With this option, only the SharePoint data and Exchange mailboxes outside of the finance department would be migrated to Microsoft 365. The finance department’s data would remain on-premises due to encryption concerns or other specific requirements.

How is there even a discussion? You got the encryption tool, unencrypt and migrate and then encrypt. Extra costs etc are not mentioned so it shouldn't be an issue even. Migrate it allllllll!

Sigh, sometimes people don't test in their demo tenant or research the question. A is correct. Decrypt the data and migrate then use M365 to encrypt it. To anyone that says it can't be decrypted shouldn't be taking this exam. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/purview/data-encryption-in-odb-and-spo

Migrating encrypted 3rd party data, so what tool you using for that? For me that confirms its not A. Must be B.

Surely you would have the 3rd party program to unencrypt it, so it can then be migrated
