Here's what I'm going with: 1) File services only 2) Storage 1, Storage 2, Storage 5 Reason being is that the documentation explicitly says that StorageV2 or Premium are supported. It does NOT indicates that it supports ADLSv2 on a V1 storage (BlobStorage): "Supported storage types: Blob Storage (Standard/Premium StorageV2, including Data Lake Gen2)" https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/defender-for-cloud/defender-for-storage-introduction

Given answer is correct 100! Microsoft Defender for Storage is currently available for Blob storage, Azure Files, and Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2. Account types that support Microsoft Defender for Storage include general-purpose v2, block blob, and Blob storage accounts. There is different between "avialable" and Type"

Correct answer: 1st: File service and Data Lake Storage only 2nd: storage1, storage2, storage3, storage4, and storage5 Microsoft Defender for Storage is currently available for Blob storage, Azure Files, and Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2. Account types that support Microsoft Defender for Storage include general-purpose v2, block blob, and Blob storage accounts. ==> So Storage 3 is OK, it's a Blob Storage (Storage V1). Also Filestorage is OK as Azure Files is supported

Box1: File service and Data Lake Storage only Box2: storage1, storage4, and storage5 only Ref link: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/storage/common/azure-defender-storage-configure?tabs=azure-security-center (Look in the 'Data Container' column. Blob service but not Blob blob, hence storage4 over storage2, which has the 'Azure Data Lake Storage' feature disabled.

Not sure what do you mean. "Account types that support Microsoft Defender for Storage include general-purpose v2, block blob, and Blob storage accounts." We have these account types: Storage1 - Blob Storage (i.e. supported) Storage2 - Block Blob Storage (i.e. supported) Storage3 - Storage (i.e. not supported) Storage4 - FileStorage (i.e. not supported) Storage5 - General Purpose v2 (i.e. supported)
