The tricky thing about the first question is, that you have to deploy the app from intune in order to manage it. Of course, you can deploy apps from 3rd party stores with Intune, but if a user installed it from the app store directly, it's not a managed app for Intune...

Looks like intune doesn't support 3rd party STORES, only google play when it comes to android ....."Intune supports available apps from Managed Google Play store on Android Enterprise" devices......https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/apps/app-management

the question does not (1) especify if the app was INSTALLED from the third party store, so without that context is unclear

YES - From => https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/apps/apps-add Apps written in-house or as a custom app (line-of-business) Intune installs the app on the device (you supply the installation file). You must update the app. YES YES

Statement 2 about the volume licensing seems to be only partly correct, volume licensing for Android does not seem to be supported. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/apps/app-management Under the "App management capabilities by platform" section it is marked as no for Android, but yes for iOS and Windows 10/11 https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/apps/vpp-apps Again only mentions iOS and windows, not Android. Can anyone confirm?

I agree. The link below lists many third party apps ("Partner productivity apps") including Acronis Access and Cisco Jabber for Intune " The following apps support the core Intune App Protection Policy settings. Apps are also capable of supporting advanced App Protection Policy and App Configuration Policy settings. For more information, contact the app vendor." https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/apps/apps-supported-intune-apps

A is YES, Intune does support the management of third party apps, but third party apps cannot be assigned directly to devices only to users.
