I disagree with the first drop down, the alert state can be changed to any of the alternate options, so Alert1 @ 11:23:52 which has the state of Acknowledged can be changed to New or Closed. Alert2 @ 11:23:24 with the state of Closed can be changed to New or Acknowledged.

You make a good point. If a closed alert can be changed to new or acknowledged, why cant one changed an acknowledged alert back to new or closed. I would changed the answer to new or closed on that one.

To help support the answers. an Alert that is in the Acknowledged state can typically be changed to either New or Closed. Once an alert is Closed, it is considered resolved and no longer active. - The normal flow of alert states is from New to Acknowledged to Closed, not the other way around

They're big changes and it's going to make this exam very difficult. Remember: you can use MS Learn as a resource, but it can consume much of your time.

What does that even mean? There are changes coming to this exam? When? How many questions are still coming from this dump?

Explanation: the alert state can be changed to any of the alternate options, so Alert1 @ 11:23:52 which has the state of Acknowledged can be changed to New or Closed. Alert2 @ 11:23:24 with the state of Closed can be changed to New or Acknowledged.

Silly questions as this is behavior that will obviously change with each update that MS runs.

The answer seems to be correct User Response Description New The issue has been detected and hasn't yet been reviewed. Acknowledged An administrator has reviewed the alert and started working on it. Closed The issue has been resolved. After an alert has been closed, you can reopen it by changing it to another user response.

the present answer is correct. Here's why. the monitoring state column states that the alert is 'fired', When an alert fires, the alert's monitor condition (system monitoring state) is set to 'fired', and when the underlying condition that caused the alert to fire clears, the monitor condition is set to 'resolved'. The alert state (user input states) isn't changed until the user changes it. So while the system is still in the "fired" state, the user can acknowledge the alert and start working on it. If the alert state is closed by the user and the monitoring state is still in "Fired" state, the user then must acknowledge again or reOpen the alert to new to work on it. ANSWER GIVEN IS Correct!
