[All MB-500 Questions]

You are a Dynamics 365 Finance developer. You create a key performance indicator (KPI) that will enable users to be able to see the total sales per region. You create a tile named SalesRegion and link the KPI to the tile.
You need to ensure that users can view this tile on a form in the user interface.
What should you do?

  • A. Create an extension of the form that will contain the new tile and KPI. Add the tile to the extended form.
  • B. Open the form that will contain the new tile. Add the tile to the form.
  • C. Create a new workspace. Add the KPI to the workspace from the user interface.

A is the correct answer because KPI will be added to the tile and then tile will be assigned to the Form

A is correct according to this https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/training/modules/build-workspaces-finance-operations/1-kpi To add the KPI to a workspace, follow these steps: Right-click the project and select Add > New item. Select User Interface > Tile. Select Add. Drag and drop the KPI from Solution explorer onto the tile in the Tile designer. Save. Create an extension of an existing workspace form or create a new workspace form. Ensure the solution model matches the workspace form model, otherwise you cannot make an extension of that form. Create an extension by right-clicking on the form in the AOT. In the Designer, add a Tile button. You may need to change the pattern of the form to custom to do this. Set the Tile property drop-down option to the KPI tile that you created. Save all and build the solution. The workspace will show the new KPI that was created. Select the KPI tile to view details.

Selected Answer: A
Highly ambiguous question, we have to make a lot of assumptions here in my opinion... The question implies that the KPI and the tile were created using Visual Studio. That would mean C is incorrect, since you can create a KPI from the SalesTable form and add is as a tile to a workspace using the user interface, but : - you don't have to be a developer for that - creating the KPI and the tile in advance (using visual studio) in Visual Studio wouldn't be necessary Answer B COULD be correct IF: - we assume the form you are adding the tile to is a custom form that is part of a custom model you have access to - AND IF we assume that we're opening the form in Visual Studio designer and adding the tile there Seems like a stretch to me... A is the most likely answer here I believe, since it explicitly says to create an extension of an existing form (we would have to assume it is a workspace form) and add the tile there. So that implies by a developer using Visual Studio.

Read the question statement again. It says, You need to ensure that users can view this tile on a form in the user interface and tile with named SalesRegion is created and link the KPI to the tile. So correct answer is C

I would say B is the correct one I think A is wrong, because the question didn't specify to add it to an existing form Thats why B is correct C is wrong because it says add the KPI to workspace from user interface, if it said add kpi to work space from visual studio or object designer it might have been correct

C is correct and they have tried to confuse. Workspace is also type of a form, and KPI are best place in a workspace based form. Also check the link which clearly tells that workspace is a form where various forms patterns are applied: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/user-interface/workspace-form-pattern
